Rifle Range

Dedicated to Robert Missman

Rifle Range The Rifle Range is located near the entrance to camp. It is dedicated to Robert Missman, a former staff member who was killed in the Korean War. Click for Range History

At the Rifle Range, scouts learn the proper use of rifles and shotguns.  The range has eight stations for rifle shooting and an adjacent area for shotgun skeet shooting.

The merit badges that can be earned here are Rifle Shooting and Shotgun Shooting.

This area is one that interests many first- and second-year campers. The merit badges are sometimes difficult for younger scouts, but make an excellent choice for stronger boys as they mature.

Written verification of prior NRA awards must be brought to the camp by any Scouts intending to shoot for NRA awards. Scouts should be told that a substantial amount of practice time is needed to achieve scores.  It is often difficult to complete these badges in one week.  There are nominal fees.
